
Healthy Schools, Healthy Future Conference & Healthy Schools for Healthy Kids Conference

There have been two conferences held during 2007 and 2008. The aim of the 2007 Healthy Schools for Healthy Kids Conference was to showcase and promote primary school-based healthy eating and physical activity initiatives. Over 75 participants attended including teachers, health professionals, school nurses and parents. Feedback from the conference highlighted the need to focus more nutrition initiatives as well as other issues that schools are facing.
In 2008 the Healthy Schools, Healthy Future Conference aimed to showcase and promote Primary and Secondary school-based positive body image and nutrition initiatives to a number of teachers, parents and health professionals within the Hume region. 66 Participants attended on the day and evaluation results demonstrates that the conference objectives were achieved.
